Mission & Vision

CITY OF JOY RWANDA’S MISSION IS THE GREAT COMMISSION:
Todd and Andria moved to Rwanda in May of 2010 and started City of Joy Rwanda. Since that time their family has grown with the birth of Ella, Zeb, Esther and Eliza! City of Joy Rwanda is made up of a school, Joy Christian School and church, Joy Christian Church. The school has 210 children ranging from kindergarten to fifth grade.  We hope to expand our school with 10 new classrooms soon. This would allow us to have  preschool through 6th grades. Each classroom fully furnished costs $10,000. We also have a one year sewing program that is offered to vulnerable women who need a trade to make a living. Close to 100 graduates are now able to support their families by sewing! Our church is led by Pastor Lambert, and disciples are being made as many are surrendering their lives to Jesus and becoming followers of Him!

Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and The Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you.” Matthew 28:19-20
Through Joy Christian School and Joy Christian Church we live out the Great Commission of making disciples. Our school takes seriously the teaching of the Scriptures hand in hand with solid curriculum. We pray that our students will one day be followers of Jesus and disciple makers themselves. Our church is seeing incredible growth as over 100 people made a public profession of their faith through baptism! Life transformation is happening ever day as attendance has doubled in the first year to 230 in Sunday worship. Discipleship is key to growth as the Bible is “taught and caught”!

One day we see the school growing into a self sustaining premier boarding school hosting preschool through high school grades. We pray that the church continues to grow disciples and develop outreach programs throughout the country of Rwanda as many would surrender their lives to Christ.
