Jeanne d’Arc Uwamahoro is from Gitarama about 45 minutes away and lives with her husband and two daughters in Muhanga. She spends the weekend at home and stays in an apartment at City of Joy during the week.
Jeanne came to City of Joy Rwanda with strong credentials. She started teaching in 2014 and has a degree in business. She was previously a first grade teacher and a principle of a school in Muhanga, Rwanda. Through the Continuing Education Program she is able to obtain a teaching degree and even a master’s degree in education.
Jeanne is our Kinyarwanda language teacher. Her skills are absolutely essential in teaching our students not only how to speak their own language, but to read and write as well. She is also a tremendous help to the other teachers from Kenya who are learning Kinyarwanda so they are able to communicate better with their students who are fluent in the language.
Jeanne enjoys reading books and likes spending time with her kids and husband. She is excited to be part of the faculty at Joy Christian School and looks forward to sharing Jesus with her students.
