Juliet came to us from Kisumu County in Kenya, and before joining City of Joy she worked as a teacher at St. Mary’s School in Kisumu. She originally wanted to be a doctor, but her three sisters convinced her that the teaching profession is where God is calling her, so she changed her major and became a teacher. Life hasn’t been easy. Her mom died 18 years ago and her father died last year. She clings to her faith in Jesus to see her through the good and challenging times. Juliet hopes to teach at a university one day as she continues to grow. City of Joy Rwanda is sending her to get a Bachelors Degree in teaching. She is able to attend classes during the term breaks.
Juliet has a seven year old son and enjoys listening to gospel music during her free time. As she is new to Rwanda she finds that her greatest challenge in the transition in coming from Kenya is mastering the Rwandan language. Please pray for Juliet as she transitions, that she would continue to learn and grow in her knowledge of the language and that her family would find happiness and contentment in Rwanda.
