Our family arrived in Minnesota last month and now we are in Arizona. We head back to Rwanda January 9th. Down the road from us our good friends, the Arnolds, have 4 goats. Almost every day we take the kids to feed the goats. The goats love eating the tree leaves that are just out of their reach! I find it ironic that we have goats in Rwanda AND in the states and our kids LOVE them! It seems that goats are a bridge between cultures!
One of the lessons that God has been teaching me is how to equally value life (and people) in Rwanda and in the states. God obviously values both Rwanda and the states equally but I must confess that I have struggled with this. If I am to be a good disciple I must pursue, through the power of the Holy Spirit, that which I see my Master (Jesus) doing. Jesus valued people because God created them! So some how my children and their love for goats in both Rwanda and the states has brought God’s promises to my heart!
“Here there is no Gentile or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all. Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.” Colossians 3:11-12
